WordPress : How to slove cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain
Yesterday, I’m trying to install wordpress but I keep getting the same error message :
“The installation can not be completed: You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.”
But, i found that directory is absolutely empty, what happen on it?
Actually, it’s nothing wrong with WordPress, and this problem would no happen when you manually install Wordpress. This happen when you want to install a script using Fantastico? Please remember that Fantastico isn’t so fantastic! During the install, Fantastico would create a temperory .php file named installed_in_root.php, so when you install a new script, it will warning you “The installation can not be completed: You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.”
So, it’s is very easy to solve this problem, just follow steps below:
1. Log in cPanel and click on File Manager;
2. Navigate to .fantasticodata in your Home Directory;
3. Delete the file installed_in_root.php.
This will ensure there is no Fantastico information remaining from previous installations.
