Sireet- an cydia tweak that allows any jail broken device that has Siri working on it to send tweets with your voice. Just trigger Siri and say “Tweet…what ever” it uses the twitter login credentials already configured in the Twitter settings (if you have it set up). Easy.
This doesn’t add any icons to your home screen.
Sireet is now available for free in Cydia via modmyi repo…
Step 1: If you haven’t already, install the libimobiledevice package on your Linux distribution. This will allow Linux to talk to your iPad 2, iPhone 4S, and other iOS devices. Again, this could differ depending on your Linux distro, so just take this as a loose guide. For other distributions or more information, visit http://www.libimobiledevice.org/
Step 2: Download Absinthe v0.3 from our downloads page, and unpack on your desktop.
Step 3: If you’re on a x86 machine double click absinthe.x86, if you’re on a 64-bit machine (likely) double click absinthe.x86_64 to run Absinthe.
Step 4: Ensure that your device is powered on, and that Absinthe detects your device, then click Jailbreak.
Step 5: Let Absinthe finish the entire process, no user intervention is needed until then end. Once the loading bar is complete, find the Absinthe icon on your iDevice’s Home screen, and launch it to complete the jailbreak.
Step 6: Once your device reboots, you should see the Cydia icon on your desktop.
If you’re a Linux user, by all means sound off in the comments about Absinthe, jailbreaking, and iOS support in Linux in general, we’re interested in hearing your perspective on things.
Chronic Dev Team has released Absinthe Version 0.3 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 with it comes support for Linux.
Head over to our previous page in order to view Absinthe untethered jailbreak for windows and mac user.
If you’re already jailbroken with v0.2, there is no need to attempt to reapply the jailbreak with the latest version, because there’s nothing really new besides a few cosmetic changes and a fix for a rare bug that most won’t encounter. Besides, if you tried to reapply the jailbreak, it would simply refuse since the app detects whether or not the device is already jailbroken.
For Linux users, this is very good news. Historically, Chronic Dev has been one of the few jailbreak developers to support the “3rd” operating system. View below in order to download version 0.3 of Absinthe. There are also downloads for OS X and Windows.
Are you a Linux user? Are you happy to see support for the A5 jailbreak come to your platform?
VoiceUtils- a new tweak in Cydia. We’ve talked about custom commands for Siri before, but now that there’s finally a jailbreak for iPhone 4S, we can try them first hand. VoiceUtils is the first package that will add custom power commands to Siri. Install it via Cydia ( free ), then trigger Siri and say:
reboot – will reboot your iPhone
power off – will turn off your iPhone
restart SpringBoard – will respring your iPhone
enter Safe Mode – self explanatory
