Corona-1.0-7

A couple days ago, RedSn0w was updated to fix the iBooks DRM issue where some images wouldn’t display properly, or wouldn’t even display at all. At the time, we noted that a Corona update shouldn’t be too far out.

Saurik just announced on Twitter that Corona has been updated to version 1.0-7 to fix those issues mentioned above, Saurik also noted that this fix is valid for every jailbroken device on iOS 5.0.1, except for iPhone 3GS old bootrom.

If you’ve already installed Corona, simply open up Cydia and update to the latest version. If you haven’t jailbroken your device yet, we recommend you use RedSn0w, which will provide you with a one-stop untether jailbreak.

Absinthe-linux

Chronic Dev Team has released Absinthe Version 0.3 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 with it comes support for Linux.

Head over to our previous page in order to view Absinthe untethered jailbreak for windows and mac user.

If you’re already jailbroken with v0.2, there is no need to attempt to reapply the jailbreak with the latest version, because there’s nothing really new besides a few cosmetic changes and a fix for a rare bug that most won’t encounter. Besides, if you tried to reapply the jailbreak, it would simply refuse since the app detects whether or not the device is already jailbroken.

For Linux users, this is very good news. Historically, Chronic Dev has been one of the few jailbreak developers to support the “3rd” operating system. View below in order to download version 0.3 of Absinthe. There are also downloads for OS X and Windows.

Are you a Linux user? Are you happy to see support for the A5 jailbreak come to your platform?

iPhone jailbreak: Untethered Jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 With Absinthe

January 22nd, 2012 by ytechcity

This iPhone 4S untethered jailbreak and iPad 2 untethered jailbreak have been released.

Indeed, as we initially told you just a few minutes ago, you can now download Absinthe and jailbreak your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 untethered.

Check inside as we guide you through the entire jailbreak process step-by-step…

How to Jailbreak the iPhone 4S or iPad 2 with Absinthe
Step 1: Download, extract, and run Absinthe.

Step 2: Connect your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 via USB.

Step 3: Click “Jailbreak” to run the Absinthe jailbreak. It will take a while on the beginning portion, and eventually your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 will look like it’s restoring a backup. It will say “Restoring in Progress”. This can be pretty lengthy. Don’t worry, it’s working. Don’t touch your device until completely finished!

Step 4: Once completed, unlock your iPhone if necessary, and you should see an Absinthe icon on the Home screen. You may have to search for it if you have a lot of app icons. Tap the Absinthe icon, and it should load the GreenPois0n site, and will then reboot your device. Once it loads back up, the Cydia icon will have replaced the Absinthe icon.

Step 5: Your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 is now jailbroken! It took a while, but it was certainly worth the wait. Now all that’s left to do is load Cydia for the first time, and start downloading your favorite jailbreak apps and tweaks.

Are you finally have an iPhone 4S or iPad 2 untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1? What’s the first jailbreak app or tweak that you’ll download?
