News: Maybank gives away HTC Desire daily for m2u mobile promo

Maybank, Malaysia’s most extensive bank is having a promotion for its mobile site, m2u Mobile. From 14th July 2010 onwards, they are giving away a HTC Desire daily for transacting on their mobile site.

To join, just access their mobile site at http://mobile.maybank2u.com.my with your mobile and make a bill payment or interbank transfer. After your transaction, you will be asked a question. If you are the 1000th person with the correct answer, you’ll win the device. This runs until 21st October 2010.

Another interesting thing they highlighted is that m2u is FREE to access on Celcom, DiGi and Maxis subscribers for a short promo period as follows:

News: Apple releases iOS 4.1 to developers

Developers who signed up for Apple’s iPhone Developers Program will be able to download the latest release of iOS 4. If you’re following with Apple’s iPhone 4 reception issues, you probably know that Apple is solving that with a software fix.

Engadget has a screenshot of a iPhone 4 with the latest update and they do notice some difference on the signal bars. Visually, the bars look bigger than normal with the 1-bar symbol being taller than before.

It is just released so we expect to hear more discoveries soon.

Phones: Motorola Charm- QWERTY device powered with Android 2.1

Motorola has officially announced the Motorola Charm which is a QWERTY device running on Android 2.1 (Eclaire). The device looks pretty sleek and this will appeal for those who prefer candybar qwerty phones like Blackberry/Nokia E71.

According to motorola official website, apart from having a QWERTY keyboard, the Charm features a 2.8″ touchscreen and a touchpad behind the device called the “Backtrack”. For camera, it spots a 3MP camera with “Kodak Perfect Touch Technology” which they claims produces better and brighter pictures. For better enhanced voice call, it even has a 2nd microphone to cancel out background noise.

News: DiGi slashed its iPhone 3GS prices and reduced its monthly fee

Digi always come with suprise, but this suprise is expected as the arrival of the iPhone 4 is near and carriers overseas have done the same price slash as well. What we concern now is when will pre-orders for iPhone 4 be announced and what is the price for iPhone 4?

DiGi has slashed its iPhone 3GS prices by RM200 and also reduced its monthly iPhone plans as well. Its iDiGi 88, 138 and 238 have been slashed to RM60, RM90 and RM160 monthly respectively. Not forgetting also is that a new 8GB iPhone 3GS will be coming as the lowest entry phone and it may be priced ever lower than current offerings. Click here to check the old price.
