iPhone jailbreak: Dev Team Releases Jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1

April 4th, 2011 by ytechcity

PwnageTool

Great Day, Dev Team just released an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1. This jailbreak is mostly due to the untether exploit found by i0n1c.

This jailbreak works with every device that supports iOS 4.3.1, except for the iPad 2. So to be clear, this jailbreak will work with the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, and the second generation of Apple TV…

The Dev Team released 2 versions of the iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak. You can now use PwnageTool to jailbreak your iPhone while preserving the baseband (Mac only), or you can use RedSn0w (both Mac and PC versions available).

If you rely on the UltraSn0w unlock, it is recommended that you wait for the Dev Team to update this tool before upgrading and jailbreaking.

ultrasn0w users don’t update yet! We need to first release an update to ultrasn0w that fixes some incompatibilities when FW 4.3.1 is used on the older basebands supported by ultrasn0w. And remember once we do fix ultrasn0w for 4.3.1 (we’ll announce it here and on twitter), you must only get there via a custom IPSW from PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze or xpwn! Don’t ever try to restore or update to a stock IPSW, or you’ll lose the unlock!

If you’re not sure how to use these tools, make sure to check out our PwnageTool tutorial and our RedSn0w tutorial before you jailbreak your iPhone.

iPhone jailbreak: Sn0wbreeze 2.4 Beta 1 Released

March 29th, 2011 by ytechcity

iH8Sn0w has released Sn0wbreeze 2.4b1, and the Windows jailbreak tool will now jailbreak iOS 4.3.1. There’s already been a tethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 uncovered in PwnageTool, and both available jailbreaks are still tethered.

Sn0wbreeze is now the more stable option for jailbreak iOS 4.3.1, but there is still no untethered solution available. Jailbreak devs are working hard to release an official untethered jailbreak for the latest version of iOS, but there is no exact ETA set.

Here are the release notes for Sn0wbreeze 2.4b1:
ultrasn0w now works for basebands (01.59.00 / 04.26.08 / 05.11.07 / 05.12.01 / 05.13.04 / 06.15.00)
ultrasn0w is NOT compatible with the folllowing basebands! (02.10.04 / 03.10.01 / 04.10.01 / 05.14.02 / 05.15.04)
iOS 4.3.1 is now supported. • iPhone 3GS users can upgrade to 06.15.00 baseband now under Unlocks section in Expert.
• Upgrading your iPhone 3GS baseband to the 06.15.00 iPad baseband hack to unlock MAY cause you to lose your GPS!

Please take note that sn0wbreeze 2.4 is still in beta. It’s obvious the software is still buggy and not stable. So I suggest you to wait until the official version debuts before using it. However if you’re adventurous, you can download Sn0wbreeze 2.4 beta 1 from here.

News: Apple’s WWDC 2011 slated for June 6 at San Francisco

March 29th, 2011 by ytechcity

WWDC-2011

Apple has just issued a release announcing that its annual Worldwide developer congress (WWDC) will be happening on June 6. For the most part the lay man, is not so much concerned about the many things that happen at WWDC, all they want to know is will Steve Jobs come on stage to reveal the successor to the iPhone 4?

Activities at Apple’s WWDC 2011 include:
• more than 100 technical sessions presented by Apple engineers on a wide range of technology-specific topics for developing, deploying and integrating the latest iOS and Mac OS technologies;
• over 1,000 Apple engineers providing developers with code-level assistance, insight into optimal development techniques, and guidance on how they can make the most of iOS and Mac OS technologies in their apps;
• the opportunity to connect with thousands of fellow iPad®, iPhone® and Mac developers from around the world; and
• Apple Design Awards which recognize iPad, iPhone and Mac apps that demonstrate technical excellence, innovation and outstanding design.

The question you may ask, will Apple go ahead and show off the iPhone 5 as they did with the iPhone 4 last year? What do you think?

Alphonso Labs Inc posted a new version of Pulse News Mini to the App Store. The good news is it still won’t cost you anything to download. If you liked the old version of Pulse, you’re going to the love the new one.

It is so easy to add or remove RSS feeds, and even browse their RSS news sources. They have added tons of pre-made RSS feeds which is nice for those that are trying a feed reader for the first time.

If you already use Pulse, grab the update. If you haven’t tried Pulse News Mini yet, do it. This is the perfect time to see what a great iPhone app should look like. It’s no wonder that Pulse News Mini finds itself in the App Store’s Hall of Fame.

Has anyone used the new update?
