iQuickCall-iphone

iQuickCall is a cydia tweak that allows you quick access to the number you call everyday. Using the gesture options built into Activator, iQuickCall gives you several methods for quickly prompting the option to call/text/e-mail someone from anywhere on your screen.

There are apps in the App Store that try to solve the issue of quick contact reference in iOS, but iQuickCall uses the system access benefits that jailbreaking provides for a more integrated approach…

All of the gestures/triggers in Activator are assignable to iQuickCall. You can swipe on a corner of the screen, tap and hold the home button, etc. to trigger iQuickCall from anywhere in iOS.

iQuickCall adds its own preference pane to the iPhone’s Settings app. In settings, you can add a number for the call, text and mail options. These different contacts can all be the same, or each one can be different.

Once you’ve entered your contact(s) and assigned your Activator, iQuickCall is ready to help you access your people quickly. Another cool option is that iQuickCall gives you the option to quickly type another number or email from the springboard.

iQuickCall is $0.99 in Cydia. It’s a great tweak for anyone who wants quick access to a certain contact.

xbackup8

xBackup makes it easy enough to backup and restore all of your jailbroken applications so that you won’t mind upgrading your iOS. Checkout here for laster jailbreaking tools.

xBackup is an application in Cydia, hosted in the BigBoss repo. There are literally 3 buttons in the entire app which consist of Backup, ? (Help), and Restore. The Help button gives you the file path to the backups, in case you don’t want to use iTunes.

Before you upgrade your firmware, open up xBackup and tap Backup. Then, just plug your iPhone into your computer and let iTunes do a sync like normal. Once that’s complete and you’ve restored and re-jailbroken your iDevice, open Cydia.

This time, instead of having to re-download all of your jailbroken packages and sources, just simply download xBackup. Then, open it up and tap the restore button. If you don’t see any previous backups, plug your iPhone into your computer and make sure you have restored to the most recent backup.

The developer has already announced some of the features that will be implemented within the next updates of xBackup. some of them are listed below:

• Backup via the server, so as to be stored in a personal space all the necessary data
• Ability to share the backup data with others, friends or colleagues (this is not true for applications Cydia Store to be necessarily purchased from third parties.
• Otherwise, after the backup will not work)
• Ability to manage manually, select and deselect the programs you want to restore after backup
• Automatic backups.

By using this xBackup, now restored to the most recent backup become easily. If you want to try xBackup out, it’s available on the BigBoss repository on Cydia and can be purchased at a price of $ 1.50 .

Android Apps: Google Docs app for Android

May 2nd, 2011 by ytechcity

Google has just released Google Docs app for Android platform which makes it easy to manage your docs stored online. With this new app it’s easy to filter and search for your content across any Google account, then jump straight into editing docs using the online mobile editors. The app also allows you to easily share items with contacts on your phone, right from within the app. The app however still relies heavily on data as the editing and viewing is still done on the net. Each time you open or edit a document or spreadsheet, it launches the online editor which runs on its built-in browser.

Some of the key features is having the ability to upload most office documents directly from your phone and it even lets you create documents with your camera or a taken image. According to Google, there’s an optical character recognition (OCR) feature which converts photos taken of documents into text format. When we tried, we couldn’t get it to work and according to Google it only works for certain fonts. This OCR feature is expected to improve further over time and we think this will be a convenient way to copy text from printed materials.

The Docs app also allows you to upload content from your phone and open documents directly from Gmail. You can also add a widget to your home screen for easy access to three core tasks: jumping to your starred documents, taking a photo to upload, or creating a new document with one tap. Google Docs for Android is currently available for Android 2.1 and above.
