Just a few days ago, Apple has announced iBooks 2 at today’s event held in New York City. The app is now live and it will feature newly designed fullscreen books with interactive animations, diagrams, photos and videos. Will also allow you to use your fingers to highlight text and take notes.

iBooks is an amazing way to download and read books. iBooks includes the iBookstore, where you can download the latest bestselling books or your favorite classics – day or night. VoiceUtils- a new tweak in Cydia. We’ve talked about custom commands for Siri before, but now that there’s finally a jailbreak for iPhone 4S, we can try them first hand. VoiceUtils is the first package that will add custom power commands to Siri. Install it via Cydia ( free ), then trigger Siri and say:

reboot – will reboot your iPhone
power off – will turn off your iPhone
restart SpringBoard – will respring your iPhone
enter Safe Mode – self explanatory

U Mobile is now offering the Samsung Galaxy Y on its new postpaid plans, it’s was a great deal if you’re looking for an affordable Android smart phone with an affordable plan.

The Samsung Galaxy Y is a decent entry level device at its price point below RM500. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a modest 832MHz processor which retails at RM499. On U Mobile, it is offered at RM399 on U28 plan, RM199 on U58 and FREE on U88.

To recap on the plans (U28, U58, U88), they come with 1GB, 2GB and 3GB mobile internet quota respectively with either free calls/sms or both. To make it easier to purchase, U Mobile is also offering 6 months easy payment programme as well. When signing up, U58 and U88 requires some advance payment of the subscription fee while U28 requires no upfront payment. The device bundle is tied with a 24 months contract.
