October 23rd, 2011 by ytechcity

I am asked constantly how to put the iPhone in DFU mode. I always answer people and explain them how to do it but I figured after all this time, writing a post about how to put your iPhone in DFU mode was long overdue.

In most cases, you’ll need to put your iPhone in DFU mode during the jailbreak process. Just follow below step to put your iphone in DFU mode

Step 1: Launch iTunes.

Step 2: Plug your iPhone in your computer via the USB cable.

Step 3: Turn off your phone.

Step 4: Hold the Power and Home button together for exactly 10 seconds.

Step 5: After 10 seconds, release the Power button and keep holding the home button until iTunes tells you it has detected your iPhone.

If you still can’t do it, check out the video below:

News: Box offers 50 GB storage to iOS users

October 23rd, 2011 by ytechcity

Box.net is taking advantage of the hype surrounding the iPhone 4S and iCloud by offering 50 GB of free storage to iPhone and iPad owners. Normally, 50GB of Box.net storage would cost you $20 per month, with the free plan only offering 5GB. Box also has one huge advantage over most similar services in that it allows multiple users to collaborate on file(s) at the same time.

The promotion is live now and will last for 50 days so you have plenty of time to sign up. To claim your 50 GB account, you have to download the Box.net app to your iOS device and login with your account credentials. If you don’t have an account, you can sign up for one on your device.

Once you login, your account will be upgraded to 50 GB. These extra 50 GBs are yours to keep for as long as you have your box.net account.

However, since iCloud storage is currently useless for anyone that doesn’t use iWork, and most people probably have few individual files larger than 100MB to share, Box is an attractive option that’s difficult to pass-up on.

Take a look at this video especially towards the end when Siri answers “noted”. The computing that goes on behind this piece of software is extraordinary. We will say that Siri is one very intelligent piece of code and this video demonstrates Siri’s intelligence amazingly.

Question now is, is Siri practical in everyday use? Especially when you’re talking to it in noisy environments. What do you think?
