Apple: Releases iTunes 10.2.2

April 20th, 2011 by ytechcity

iTunes-10_2_2

Apple released iTunes 10.2.2 which doesn’t bring anything new but a few bug fixes. I personally never encountered any of the issues mentioned in the changelog, but you might not be as lucky as I was.

Whats new :

iTunes 10.2.2 provides a number of important bug fixes, including:
• Addresses an issue where iTunes may become unresponsive when syncing an iPad.
• Resolves an issue which may cause syncing photos with iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to take longer than necessary.
• Fixes a problem where video previews on the iTunes Store may skip while playing.
• Addresses other issues that improve stability and performance.

I tried iTunes 10.2.2 with my jailbroken iPhones and was able to sync without any issue, so it appears to be jailbreak-safe…

iOS-4_3_2

Just 3 weeks after releasing iOS 4.3.1 (Apple: iOS 4.3.1 For iPhone, iPad And iPod Touch), Apple just released iOS 4.3.2 for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPad 2, iPod Touch 3G and 4G.

As usual, this new software update was released to fix a FaceTime bug we reported about last week. The changelog shows that iOS 4.3.2 also fixes an issue that prevented international users from connecting to 3G networks on iPad. As usual, this update also includes the “latest security updates”.

iPhone jailbreak: Dev Team Releases Jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1

April 4th, 2011 by ytechcity

PwnageTool

Great Day, Dev Team just released an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1. This jailbreak is mostly due to the untether exploit found by i0n1c.

This jailbreak works with every device that supports iOS 4.3.1, except for the iPad 2. So to be clear, this jailbreak will work with the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, and the second generation of Apple TV…

The Dev Team released 2 versions of the iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak. You can now use PwnageTool to jailbreak your iPhone while preserving the baseband (Mac only), or you can use RedSn0w (both Mac and PC versions available).

If you rely on the UltraSn0w unlock, it is recommended that you wait for the Dev Team to update this tool before upgrading and jailbreaking.

ultrasn0w users don’t update yet! We need to first release an update to ultrasn0w that fixes some incompatibilities when FW 4.3.1 is used on the older basebands supported by ultrasn0w. And remember once we do fix ultrasn0w for 4.3.1 (we’ll announce it here and on twitter), you must only get there via a custom IPSW from PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze or xpwn! Don’t ever try to restore or update to a stock IPSW, or you’ll lose the unlock!

If you’re not sure how to use these tools, make sure to check out our PwnageTool tutorial and our RedSn0w tutorial before you jailbreak your iPhone.
