For the iPhone 4S hopefuls that doesn’t want to be tied with telco contract plans, you can now purchase it directly from Apple and have it shipped direct to you.

The RRP listed on Apple store is lower than the telcos with pricing as follows:

iPhone 4S 16GB – RM2199
iPhone 4S 32GB – RM2499
iPhone 4S 64GB – RM2799

You would have noticed that Apple Online store is selling the iPhone 4S 32GB & 64GB cheaper than the telco’s RRP of RM2590 and RM2890 respectively. After all, RRP is merely a “recommended retail price”. Delivery is written as 1-2 weeks and it is limited to 2 per customer.

DiGi too has joined in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 bandwagon with its latest bundling from as low as RM1200. This is RM499 savings off the Tab 8.9 3G retail price of RM1,699. Currently there’s one bundling option that’s tied with a 6GB broadband plan at RM99/month on Easy Payment Scheme. There’s no mention of contract period but if it follows the Galaxy Tab 10.1 offer, the RM99/month payment of 24 months is likely to be inclusive of 12 months subscription + tablet price.

Currently this is only available at DiGi authorised stores. For more information, head over to DiGi’s tablet page.

DiGi is also doing some extra promotions where they are giving extra savings of RM480 (RM20 rebate x 24 months) on Smart Plan 68 phone bundling. DiGi- always the smarter choose.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is now offered on Celcom from as low as RM1,228. Since PC Fair is happening over the weekend, they are throwing extra RM300 off which appears to be monthly rebate of RM25 for 12 months.

As the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is able to make phone calls and SMS, it is bundled on Celcom Exec 50 with a choice of 1GB or 3GB data plans. As usual, they give either 12 months or 24 months contract option. As comparison, U Mobile is offering the Tab 7.0 Plus from as low as RM999 on U88 plan.

If you don’t really need to make phone calls, you might want to consider the larger Galaxy Tab 8.9 which is offered as low as RM1288 on Celcom.

Celcom: launch iPhone 4S on come December 16

Celcom puts up iPhone 4S teaser on their website just after Maxis do so.The iPhone 4S is coming in Malaysia on December 16, barring any catastrophic disaster or anything along similar lines of severity, this is a certainty.

Both Celcom and Maxis have revealed that they will launch the device on the same day but which telco will be the first to have stocks in store for you to purchase?

While we would assume that both telcos will have iPhone 4S stock at the same time come December 16, Celcom is adamant that it will be the first operator to offer the device in Malaysia as a leaked internal communique that was made available to us reveals.

Curiously, DiGi has been very quiet about the iPhone 4S. We recall during the iPhone 4 launch the yellow fellow was actively competing with Maxis for your attention. Wonder what happened this time around?
