For RM499, they are offering either Yes huddle MiFi or a Yes Zoom gateway which comes with 2x RM50 reloads. Looking at the details, they are giving RM30 free credit upon activation. On top of that, they will give RM60 if you stay with them for 6 months and they will give additional RM100 if you stay on further until 12 months. That makes the Yes huddle Mifi and Yes Zoom effectively RM249 if you stay with them for a year.

In this promotion, they listed a total bundle of RM190 credit but from our calculation it is RM130 bundled credit upfront and additional RM120RM160 credit if you stay on for a year. Not sure if there’s any mistake but do clarify with them before signing up. In addition, they will also give a free Yes Go USB Modem with RM50 rebate credit for your loved one. Sony has revealed more details of its Tablet S Android tablet with pre-order package details. The pre-ordering info on their website is still quite sketchy at this point but the Tablet S models and pricing are revealed as follows:

Sony Tablet S (16GB WiFi) – RM1,499
Sony Tablet S (32GB WiFi) – RM1,799

For those that pre-order, they will get an exclusive ST Slip Case worth RM139. Estimated shipping time for Sony Tablet S pre-order package will begin tomorrow 28th January 2012.

Just a little recap on the Tablet S, the 9.4? tablet runs on dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, comes with 1GB of RAM and weighs 598g. In terms of thickness, it is between 10.1mm at the thinnest point to 20.6mm at the thickest. When announced, it was running on Android 3.1 but it is upgradable to Android 3.2. For imaging, it comes with a 5MP camera at the back and a 0.3MP VGA camera in the front.

LG has revealed that selected range of its Android smartphones is scheduled to start receiving the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) upgrade starting the second quarter of next year.

The phones that LG has identified to be able to receive the update are:
1. Optimus 2X
2. Optimus Sol — Release date in Malaysia unknown
3. Prada phone by LG 3.0 — Release date in Malaysia unknown
4. Optimus LTE — Not available in Malaysia
5. myTouch Q — Not available in Malaysia
6. Eclipse — Not available in Malaysia

The range if LG devices will be extended to the following starting from the third quarter of 2012.
1. Optimus 3D
2. Optimus Black
3. Optimus Big — Not available in Malaysia
4. Optimus Q2 — Not available in Malaysia
5. Optimus EX — Not available in Malaysia

Despite the timeline, LG says that exact update release dates will vary depending on market and operator. Considering there’s almost no operator customisation for smartphones in Malaysia, you can expect the updates to be available for local units shortly after it becomes globally available.

In comparison, Samsung has announced that a selected range of its Galaxy devices is scheduled to receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update within the first quarter of next year while Sony Ericsson has indicated ICS update roll out to start by March 2012.
