Cydia tweak: NCControl- Makes Your Notification Center Transparent

April 29th, 2012 by ytechcity

nccontrol

NCControl via Cydia is a tweak developed by Ron Melkhior that makes your notification center completely transparent. Just pull the notification center down and what you would be able to see is the transparent widgets such as Weather or Stock.

If you want to use any function in the application which is not covered with the notification in the notification center, you can use it with the help of this tweak. Again, tweaks never add any icon on the springboard. So all you need is to do is to install NCControl from Cydia and use it instantly. The changes would occur only after the respiring of the device.

But for those of you with empty Notification Centers, NCControl can provide a heads-up display of sorts as you browse through Safari and other applications. If you’re interested, you can find the tweak in Cydia, NCControl is available for free under BigBoss repository.

NCSettings is a free cydia tweak that adds an SBSettings inspired set of toggles to iOS 5?s Notification Center. If you wants to add shortcuts in Notification center such as Brightness, Wifi, Sound, Location, Rotation Lock and so on, you can do it with the help of NCSettings widget. Similar to many Samsung Android smartphones, which is an inbuilt feature of TouchWiz, these shortcuts are modest, sleek and attractive. They mix up with the native look of the notification center easily.

According to your needs, you can even turn OFF the shortcuts form the Settings. Also, you can tap and hold on a specific shortcut to move from its default position in the notification center itself. The tweak may resemble with other already widgets in Cydia, but NCSettings has its own aura and charm. From any perspective, we didn’t find it as an add-on from the third-party store. Instead, after installing the tweak, we found it a part of the notification center like Weather and Stock widget.

Overall, NCSettings is a very beautiful and well functioning jailbreak widget that simply needs to be tried. You should definitely try it out from Cydia under Modmyi repository.

It is available for free and could turn out to be one of the must have widget for many people, so what are you waiting for?

Cydia Tweak: SpeakEvents Reads Out All Your Notifications On iPhone

April 29th, 2012 by ytechcity

SpeakEvents- Cydia tweak which will bring voice alerts to your iOS device. This tweak gets deep into the notification system on your iOS 5 devices. It can then read out all your notifications like Mail, Messages, Reminders etc. This takes away the need to manually check who the sender of the mail is or the subject. The tweak is highly customisable and this can be done right from your phone’s Settings.app.

SpeakEvents speaks out all your text messages and iMessages including your Mails. Coming to Mail notification, the tweak allows you to choose if you want the body of the mail to be read or not. The tweak also auto-detects the language of the content and reads out the notification in the respective language. A number of languages are supported at the moment with a promise of more in future updates.

Major features and customisation :
Speak out low battery percent notification (10% remaining)
Read out messages, iMessages and Mails
Every new hour
App notifications
Multilanguage support (en,de,ru,fe.pl,cz and more to come)
Compliments Siri rather than be obtrusive.

The tweak comes with a handy settings option which lets you :
enable/disable reading of Messages bodies.
Silent Mode Toggle – the notification wont speak out if phone is in silent mode.
Applications to be chosen for SpeakEvents to occur
Toggle auto-detect for incoming notification language.
Allowed Time-range lets you select the timte when the SpeakEvents wont trigger (useful when you are sleeping)

This tweak is available as a free download from the BiggBoss repository. But it requires an activation code to be inserted before it can function. The code is worth AUD $1.99. The device must be jailbroken and should be running on iOS 5 or higher.
